A Japanese spirit that scares youths into beeing more productive!

The Namahage dance is a ritual performed at the new year celebration by the Japanese mythological demon, the Namahage. The Namahage goes on a search for lazy kids during the new year to scare them into bettering their lives and be more productive. The ritual originates from the northern part of Honshū Japan.
